Winslow Service Unit
The Winslow Service Unit, of the Navajo Area, of the Indian Health Service encompasses 1,600 square miles and serves over 14,000 people.
The principal clinical site is the Winslow Health Center, a comprehensive ambulatory center accredited by AAAHC. Two additional clinics in
Dilkon and Leupp are within 35 miles of the center supplement its services. In 2005 Winslow added a two chair mobile unit to assist its
school-based programs. Winslow Dental Department employs seven dentists, three dental hygienists, twelve dental assistants, and five office
staff. The treatment philosophy encourages preventive dentistry with an emphasis on patient responsibility. The service unit provides a full
range of dental care to patients and annually sponsors dental sealant programs in elementary schools in the area.
